TOUCHING THE GLASS:
These Halogen bulbs are not damaged
by being touched as they are made from hard glass, not quartz.
With all bulbs it is beneficial to wipe the glass with dry tissue
to remove surface film that may occur over time, and could reduce
brightness.
OVER-VOLTING MR11: Our 6V MR11-C bulbs are designed to be very bright
and white when run at 6V. Unlike some bulbs on the market, they
should not be "over-volted".
FROSTED GLASS: Halogen bulbs with push-in and screw-cap bases
can be supplied with an optional frosted
finish for even illumination. Adding (F) to the bulb code indicates
frosted, eg GH44(F). Some Vistalite cycle lights were supplied
with frosted bulbs. Other applications are slide viewers, back
lighting and models.
TOUGHNESS: Halogen bulbs with push-in and screw-cap bases
are suitable for rough and demanding conditions. They have been
successfully shock tested at 40G in the axial and lateral planes
for emergency lighting in military aircraft.
DIMENSIONS:
Bi-pin G2.5 are 5mm diameter, and the
length of the glass is 16mm (excluding pins).
Bi-pin G4 are 8mm diameter, and the glass length is 24mm (excluding
pins).
Screw-cap (MES) are approximately 26mm long overall.
Push-in (P13.5s) are approximately 29mm long overall.
MR11-C are 35mm diameter reflector bulbs with a 2.5mm flange
thickness, and are all fitted with a cover glass for outdoor
use.
